Introduction
Sporos, LLC ("Sporos", "we", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy and personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from you as a user of our website and services (collectively, the “Service”), how we use and share that information, and the choices you have with respect to your data. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our Service.
We primarily operate in the United States and our Service is intended for users in the U.S. (though it may be accessible globally). We will never sell your personal data to third parties – we use it only as described here, mainly to operate and improve our product. If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, you can contact us at [email protected].
We only email users who have registered and explicitly opted in. Emails are limited to transactional communications, such as daily legislative activity reports, password resets, and account notifications.
Information We Collect
We collect different types of information in order to provide and improve the Service. This includes:
- Personal Information: When you interact with our Service, you may choose to provide certain personally identifiable information. For example, if you sign up or subscribe on our site, we collect information such as your name and email address. If our Service offers account creation or transactions, we may also collect other contact details or account credentials as needed. We will never collect sensitive personal information like social security numbers or financial account passwords via our Service. We use personal information to: Provide user-requested legislative updates via email; maintain account security and support requests; Analyze platform usage for service improvement (using privacy-focused analytics tools like PostHog). We do not use personal information for: Third-party marketing; cross-site tracking; selling or renting lists to advertisers.
- Payment Information: If you make a purchase or subscribe to a paid feature, your payment details (such as credit card number, billing address) will be handled by our third-party payment processor (e.g. Stripe) and not stored on our servers. Stripe processes your payment information securely in accordance with its own privacy policy, and it adheres to PCI-DSS industry security standards for handling payment data. (See the Third-Party Service Providers section below for more on Stripe and others.)
- Usage Data: Like many online services, we automatically collect certain technical data when you use our Service. This may include information such as your device’s IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, links clicked, and the date/time of your visits. We also collect diagnostic information about your use of the Service (e.g. page load times or error logs). This usage data helps us analyze and improve your experience. In general, usage data is aggregated or anonymized such that it does not directly identify you as an individual.
- Cookies and Tracking Information: We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience and gather analytics about how our Service is used. For example, we may place cookies that allow us to remember your preferences or track aggregate usage statistics. This website uses cookies to analyze site traffic and optimize your experience, and any analytics data is aggregated with data from other users. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising or cross-site tracking. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings (see Cookies and Tracking section below for details).
- Communications: If you contact us directly (for example, via email or support channels) or subscribe to our updates, we will receive the information you provide (such as your name, email address, and the content of your message). We will use this information to respond to you and handle your request. If you subscribe to our newsletter or product updates, we will use your email to send you those communications, and you can opt out at any time.
- User-Provided Content: If our Service allows you to input or upload content (for instance, if you use an AI feature or a feedback form), we will collect whatever information you choose to provide within that content. We will use it solely for the purposes for which you provided it (for example, to generate an AI-driven response or to improve our Service based on your feedback). We do not claim ownership of your content, and we will not share user-provided content with third parties except as needed to provide the Service or as otherwise described in this policy.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13 (see Children’s Privacy below).
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To Provide and Maintain the Service: We use personal information to create and manage user accounts, provide the features and services you request, and ensure the Service functions properly. For example, your information allows us to process sign-ups, authenticate users, and deliver core functionalities.
- To Communicate with You: We may use your contact information (like email address) to send important notices, such as service updates, security alerts, or administrative messages. If you have signed up for our newsletter or updates, we will send you news about Sporos products, features, or promotions. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in the email or contacting us. (Note: Even if you opt out of marketing, we may still send essential communications about your account or transactions.)
- To Improve and Analyze the Service: We use usage data and analytics to understand how our users interact with the Service and to gather valuable insights so that we can improve our product. This helps us troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and develop new features. All analytics and tracking are used internally – we analyze trends in aggregate (not at an individual level) and do not use your data for targeted advertising. For example, we might look at overall usage patterns or feature popularity to inform product decisions. Any analytics cookies or tools we use are solely for our own product improvement and your data is aggregated with other user data.
- To Provide Customer Support: If you reach out to us with a question or issue, we will use your information to respond and resolve your inquiries, bugs, or complaints. This may include addressing technical problems, investigating issues, and improving security.
